Kitchen Renovations in Toronto
The kitchen is where most homes do their living, cooking, homework and hosting. A well-planned kitchen renovation makes every one of those moments easier. Ecocor Construction has been designing and building kitchens in Toronto and the GTA since 2016, as part of 157+ completed projects, and we handle every step: layout, cabinetry and finishes, the trades and the final details.
Design first, then build
Good kitchens start with a plan that fits how you cook and gather. We look at your space, your storage needs and how people move through the room, then help you choose cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, flooring, lighting and appliances that suit your style and budget. On larger projects, we collaborate with interior designers, or with the designer you already work with, so the look and the function come together.
What we can do in your kitchen
- Full kitchen remodels with new cabinetry, countertops and flooring
- Reworked layouts, including islands and better work zones
- Removing or opening walls to create an open-concept main floor
- New plumbing and electrical to support new fixtures, lighting and appliances
- Pantry, storage and built-in solutions
- Kitchens for secondary units and rental suites
Permits and the details that matter
Simple updates such as new cabinets or countertops in the same layout usually don’t need a permit. Moving walls, especially load-bearing walls, or making significant changes to plumbing or drainage generally do need a City of Toronto building permit. Electrical work needs to be done by a licensed electrical contractor under Ontario’s Electrical Safety Authority rules. We plan for all of this before work starts so your project stays on track.
How a kitchen renovation works with Ecocor
1. Consultation. We visit, measure and talk through how you use your kitchen and what you want to change.
2. Design and selections. We work through layout, materials and fixtures with you and set a budget.
3. Scheduling and ordering. Cabinets and some materials take time to arrive, so we order early and plan the sequence of work.
4. Construction. Demolition, rough-ins, cabinetry, counters, finishes, with regular updates throughout.
5. Walkthrough. We review every detail with you before we call the job done.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a permit for a kitchen renovation in Toronto?
Not always. Replacing cabinets and counters in the same layout usually doesn’t, but removing walls or making significant plumbing changes usually does. We’ll tell you what your project needs.
Can you remove the wall between my kitchen and living room?
Often, yes. If the wall is load-bearing, it needs an engineered beam and a building permit, which we coordinate.
Do you work with interior designers?
Yes. We collaborate with interior designers, yours or ones we recommend.
How much does a kitchen renovation cost?
It depends on size, layout changes and finishes. We give you a budget based on your design.
